How knowledge and sources are handled

Discoverable information is not automatically suitable evidence. Knowledge work also considers provenance, dates, scope, rights and versions so people and AI can judge where information can be used.

Separate sources from interpretation

Preserve the identity of original interviews, documents and data. Label summaries, analysis and interpretation separately. Better wording should not remove the original uncertainty or turn an inference into a quotation.

Confirm versions and applicability

Standards can have several versions and products can have different conditions. Readers and contributors should know the date and version used, their scope and when they require rechecking. This helps prevent old information from being applied to a new situation without review.

Respect rights and sensitive information

Establish who may read the information, whether it may be used with external tools and whether it may be quoted publicly. A folder location or sharing link does not establish all usage rights; the information provider and engagement conditions still matter.

Make AI-assisted answers inspectable

Evidence-based tasks should link answers to sources, acknowledge gaps and allow refusal. Articles, research and product descriptions still require human checking. A correctly formatted citation does not prove that the source supports the conclusion.
